Academic Support

Our dedicated teachers play a crucial role in supporting international students.

They provide valuable advice on English language learning and English language exams, while our senior management is well placed to advise on UK university entrance/ academic matters as well as careers and professions.

With our years of expertise, navigating academic challenges and pursuing educational goals becomes a smoother journey for our international student community.

We have extensive experience in providing international training courses for several corporate clients; including Mitsubishi, Metropolitan Police and Arsenal Football Club.

Our School Director has over 8 years’ experience at The University of London (SOAS) and 2 years at Middlesex University, London working on several projects with students from MENA, East Asia, Russia and the CIS regions.

Our qualified and experienced, bilingual teachers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

With degrees in fields like linguistics, languages, history and law, they have a deep understanding of the language-learning process. This expertise, combined with their ability to speak multiple languages, makes them exceptionally equipped to guide our international students. Whether it's navigating the best English language courses at Lexis or English language exams, our teachers are more than capable of helping students achieve their goals.

Lexis students can speak with their teachers about their course, future plans with their teachers during regular tutorials.

Lexis students can email info@lexislondon.com to book an appointment to speak with the senior management team about UK University courses or careers.

Here’s some academic advice from our language professionals:

  1. Consistency is Key: Practice English every day. Even short, regular sessions of speaking, reading, listening, and writing are more effective than sporadic, lengthy ones.
  2. Set Clear Goals: Define what you want to achieve—whether it's improving vocabulary, mastering grammar, or enhancing fluency. Break these goals into smaller, manageable tasks.
  3. Active Engagement: Don’t just passively consume content. Engage with it. Take notes, repeat phrases aloud, and try summarising what you read or hear in your own words.
  4. Learn in Context: Memorize vocabulary in meaningful phrases or sentences, not in isolation. This helps you understand how words are naturally used.
  5. Practice Speaking Early: Speak as much as possible, even if it feels awkward at first. Join conversation groups, partner with a language buddy, or talk to yourself in English to build confidence.
  6. Listen to Authentic Material: Use podcasts, movies, audiobooks, and music. Exposure to diverse accents and real-life conversations sharpens your listening skills and broadens your understanding of cultural nuances.
  7. Seek Feedback: Work with your Lexis teacher or native speaker who can correct your mistakes and offer tailored advice. Embrace constructive criticism as an opportunity for growth.
  8. Leverage Technology: Use apps to practise and make learning more interactive and fun.
  9. Focus on Your Weaknesses: Identify specific areas where you struggle and concentrate your efforts there. Whether it’s pronunciation, grammar, or vocabulary, targeted practice is essential.
  10. Stay Patient and Positive: Language learning is a marathon, not a sprint. Celebrate small victories and don’t fear mistakes—they’re vital to learning.

Lastly, immerse yourself in the culture of the language. Understanding the cultural context behind expressions and traditions enhances both comprehension and enjoyment.
